Riello UPS is proud to earn accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation. Introduced in 2011, the real Living Wage is the only rate of pay calculated according to the costs of living and provides a voluntary benchmark for employers to ensure their staff earn a salary that meets the pressures they face in their day-to-day lives.

It is currently set at a minimum of £9.50 per hour (£10.85 in London), significantly higher than the £8.91 an hour government rate for over 23s. Wales, where Riello UPS is based, is a region with one of the highest proportions of low paid jobs in the UK, with more than 241,000 jobs (21%) paying less than the real Living Wage.

Since its launch, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to more than 250,000 people, putting at least an extra £1.3 billion into the pockets of low paid workers.

It shouldn’t be confused with the compulsory ‘national living wage’ introduced by the UK Government in April 2016, which is currently £8.91 per hour and applies to workers aged 23 and above.

The real Living Wage is calculated according to the cost of living, while the government figure is based on median earnings.

As well as being a Living Wage Employer, Riello UPS has also achieved Investors in People accreditation, as well as a host of other industry standards, certifications, and memberships.
