The Allied Irish Banks (AIB) Northern Ireland headquarters is one of Belfast’s most prominent landmarks. First built in 1992, the financial institution embarked on an ambitious refurbishment to create 91,000 square feet of Grade A office space spread over six floors.
Several floors were completely refitted with new mechanical and electrical services, while the remaining floors, which are sublet out, also had basic M&E installations.
Uninterruptible power supplies had a key role to play in the fitout, with Riello UPS reseller Ashdale Engineering Ltd earning the contract to specify several specific solutions.
To support the building’s main IT and communications infrastructure, it specified a 40 kVA version of our high-efficiency, transformer-free Multi Sentry (MST) range.
The overhaul was recognised as the ‘Medium Commercial Project of the Year’ at the Northern Ireland Electrical Awards 2021.
