Dialog Plus PowerRak UPS Accepted For Use On Network Rail Infrastructure

The Dialog Plus PowerRak has recently been accepted for use on Network Rail infrastructure - certificate number PA05/01765 - as a UPS for non-safety critical telecoms applications. PowerRak has been developed by Riello UPS specifically for long runtime applications, typically 12 hours for critical telecoms sites, and houses the entire UPS system including alarm monitoring and distribution within a single 19" rack cabinet. The cabinets which can be up to 47U high provide a very compact footprint (600Wx675Dmm).

Three Phase UPS Investment Results In New Staff at Riello UPS

As part of its strategic growth plans Riello UPS Ltd has recently appointed two new people to its UK sales and technical teams.

Three Phase UPS Sales - Tony Brooks has been appointed as Converex Systems Manager and will focus on three phase UPS projects, UPS and battery maintenance projects. Tony brings a wealth of experience and an established track record working alongside major contractors, consultants and blue chip clients.

Converex UPS was a specialist Italian UPS manufacturer purchased by Riello UPS Manufacturing srl in the 1990s. Riello UPS maintains the Converex UPS brand name for specific customers to whom it supplies branded products where requested from its ranges. Tony is based in Basingstoke.

RUV05 Takes Off From Luton As Part of New Battery Testing Service

The latest additions to the Riello UPS service fleet have recently hit the road. Riello has now standardised on the Volkswagen Caddy for its engineers servicing city based UPS applications. Dave Burrows our new Luton based field service engineer receives the keys to one of the first vans - RUV05 - from Gaynor Gillgrass, Service Operations Manager.

In addition Riello UPS has recently launched a new on-site Battery Care program, providing battery testing, maintenance, replacement and disposal. This competitively priced service can be ordered on an ad-hoc basis or as part of a UPS or standby power maintenance plan as a preventative maintenance visit. Two rates are available depending on the size of battery set and the largest that can be tested within a single day is typically 1,000 blocks.

The Cumberland Keeps The Cash Machines Running With Riello UPS

Strategic use of UPS (uninterruptible power supply) technology came under scrutiny at The Cumberland in January 2005 prompted by a power cut caused by the worst natural disaster for decades.

Power protection resources were tested by a 24-hour cut that knocked out head office computer and telecommunications systems. Local residents, forced to leave the area, scrambled to get money from cash machines. Happily, the society's existing 12kVA UPS bravely kept its network of Link and VISA machines working but only just! Multi Dialog Safeguarding Revenues For The North East's Vital Transport Link

The Tyne Tunnel is one of the busiest in Britain carrying 35,000 motor vehicles, daily, between Jarrow on the South bank of the river Tyne and Howdon to the North. It is an integral part of the social and economic infrastructure of Tyneside and provides a link with the commercial and industrial areas of Wearside and Teesside. The Tyne Tunnel receives no government grants or private donations and is totally self-funded through toll charges. Any interruption to the operation of toll collection booths, at either end, would lead to loss of revenue and possibly even closure of the tunnel itself, which would have a knock-on effect for link roads and bridges in the area.
