Master Switch Static Transfer Switches (STS) 100-400A
Master Switch is a Static Transfer Switch (STS) used within power continuity plans to add a further level of resilience.
Master Switch has two separate power sources (a primary and secondary) which can be derived from the mains power supply or two uninterruptible power supplies or a combination of the two. When one fails or falls out of tolerance, the load is transferred by the static switch to the remaining power source.
Master Switch can be fully customised to suit any installation and is available in 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 400A sized-cabinets with either 3 or 4-pole switching devices. The transfer can be set to automatic or manual and can be remotely activated.
Master Switch is part of a range of transfer switches including the rackmount Multi Switch.
Standby Power System - Dual power sources
Master Switch has three potential operating installation modes:
- Redundant: a secondary power source is used to power the load if the primary source fails.
- Cross Feeding: two power sources are used to supply the load with one selected as the primary source to take over should the secondary fail.
- Back Up: Master Switch powers the loads using a priority supply, with a secondary source available from a standby power system such as a generator
Master Switch can also be used in combination with a UPS Group Synchroniser in power continuity plans paralleling the output of two separate parallel groups of UPS such as Master Plus.
